At this critical time in our state, we need principled leaders who will get conservative results for our families. As a local small businessman, I know what it takes to create jobs and stay on budget. As Mayor of Victoria, I encouraged economic growth and protected our way of life. I delivered conservative results, consistently lowering tax rates and cutting burdensome regulations to allow businesses to create jobs.

I am running for State Representative with a clear mission: to fortify our southern border, preserve our sovereignty, and ensure that every Texan enjoys the fruits of economic liberty. I am dedicated to cutting taxes so we can keep more of what we earn, upholding the sanctity of life, and investing in vital infrastructure that strengthens our communities.

I am a staunch defender of our constitutional rights. From strongly supporting our Second Amendment freedoms and protecting our private property rights to backing the brave men and women in blue.  My resolve is to maintain Texas as a state where safety, liberty, and justice are not just ideals but realities for all citizens.

As your voice, I am committed to the next generation of Texans. I pledge to empower parents and support our teachers so our students can reach new heights of achievement and opportunity, whether they plan to go to college or enter the workforce after graduation. I will never back down to the radical left’s assault on our children and will defend our family values.

Conservative Leadership Rooted in Texas Values

Jeff Bauknight is a proud native of Victoria, Texas, where his roots run deep and his commitment to family and community stands strong. A graduate of Victoria High School, Jeff went on to earn both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, further cementing his dedication to excellence and hard work.

After launching his career in commercial building systems design, Jeff quickly advanced to managing substantial construction projects with multi-million-dollar budgets and complex operations across the globe. Despite living overseas, his heart remained in Texas, leading Jeff and his wife, J. Lynn, to make a pivotal decision to return to Victoria to raise their growing family with the strong values of faith and community.

As an entrepreneur, Jeff transformed a small residential A/C company into Crossroads Mechanical, Inc., a thriving commercial HVAC business, exemplifying the American Dream. His leadership extended into civic engagement, where he served on numerous non-profit and city boards, always focusing on enhancing the community’s quality of life.

Jeff’s commitment to public service continued to grow as he was first elected to the Victoria City Council in 2013 and then elected Mayor in 2021. Jeff led efforts to cut the city property tax rate by 18%, increased funding for law enforcement, and invested in infrastructure improvements without sacrificing fiscal responsibility. As a member of the Victoria County Appraisal District Board, he fought to increase transparency and accountability in the appraisal process.

Jeff always makes our children a priority. As a member of the Crossroads Commission on Education, he worked with the Texas Legislature to expand the University of Houston-Victoria into a four-year university. As mayor, Jeff fought to ensure children were not allowed access to sexually explicit books in the public library.
